I need help making a housewarming scrapbook?

My boyfriend’s parents’ house burned down last month. We held a housewarming for them last week. I’m trying to make them a Maya Road house shaped scrapbook as a gift. I want to include pictures from the housewarming and a few good “house” kind of quotes. Any suggestions? Do you think it would be wrong to include a picture of the old house? Thanks!

I’d say use the first page or two on photos and memories of the old house. They didn’t leave it by choice, after all, and probably miss it very much. Put in several nice pages with photos of the new house, and leave a few blank pages (with nice paper already in the sheet protector sleeves) for the folks to add photos to the scrapbook as time passes. Make it a kind of “growing” scrapbook, with space for those good memories that haven’t happened yet.

For quotes, in addition to all the others, be sure you take the obvious: Home is where the heart is. (The new house will soon become a real “home.”)

If they’re already into their new place in less than a month, I’m guessing they have a ton of folks to thank. If you’re into scrapbooking, can you also make a few handmade thank you cards? My guess is that they can really use them. These cards don’t have to be elaborate, one-of-a-kind works of art (when I am given those, I’m reluctant to use them, after all) but just nice cards that are ready to use to send a simple thank you note.
