Painters, I have a question??
I have a gallon of latex tan and a quart of a rusty orange. I am trying to match a strip in a rug.
Here is the challenge, can I add a quart of gold (the decorative accent style gold and I think it is not latex) to the latex mixture.
Latex, of course drys quickly, I tested this gold and it took about 2 days to get totally non tacky.
What would happen if I mix them? Would they just take longer to dry or would it just make a total mess?

latex paint is water based, that means you can add water to thin the paint, you used water to clean your equipments, the other type of paint is oil based, you need thinner to thin the paint, & terpentine or kerosine to clean your brushes etc, the 2 types CANNOT MIX , if you’re not sure mixed a little (use different containers if you’re taking paint from the big can) mixed them & let it stand for a few minutes, if its water & oil based paint, most of the oil based paint will float to the top, if both are water based the color will remains the same after you mixed them
